This opportunity is offered free of charge, but you will need to purchase the accompanying book. As alumni, you are not required to complete the assignments but are encouraged to participate.

This course is designed to give students an understanding of the historical backgrounds, themes, cultures, customs, and people in each of the 27 books of the New Testament. This knowledge will help students to effectively use and apply the contents of each book.

Hearing the Voice of God

This course is designed to introduce the student to the concept of hearing God. This course will discuss the blockages of hearing God and move you into a deeper relationship with Him.

How to Read, Understand and Interpret the Bible

In this course, you will learn how the Bible was formed book by book, and why we believe it is both inspired and inerrant. You will learn about methods and tools that will enable you to read and interpret verses and passages in the Bible correctly. If you’ve ever struggled with reading and understanding the Bible, or you want to know how to dig deeper into the scripture this course is for you!

Apologetics

The word “apologetics” means “defense of the faith.” The goal of this class is to provide students with the tools and knowledge to enable them to give answers to skeptics and seekers who are questioning faith in Christ for a variety of reasons. We will discuss questions concerning Creation, Evolution, The Validity of the Bible, and the Resurrection of Christ.

Understanding Spiritual Warfare

The Church of Jesus Christ is revealed in Scripture as the people of God and the Bride of Christ.  However, a further look shows this people as a part of a warring Kingdom in an ongoing conflict with the spiritual world. Much has been written and preached nevertheless the church struggles deeply with understanding this spiritual assault against both the believer and the unbeliever. 

In this class we will take a look at the multi-dimensional nature of spiritual warfare in the life of the believer. We will cover the origin and warfare between the two seeds, our Christian life in context of spiritual warfare, the power encounters of Jesus and the success and failures of the disciples encounters.

Dealing with Hot Potato Issues

In this class will explore Biblical answers to some of the “Hot Potato” Issues that Christians are being faced with in the current culture. We will examine the issues of Abortion, Racism, Homosexuality, Environment and Politics.

The Beauty of Spiritual Languages

This class will teach students about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as experienced by believers in the book of Acts. We will explore how the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and receiving a “prayer language” is meant to enhance the life of the believer and make them more effective in their journey and ministry. We will address common misunderstandings people have about the work of the Holy Spirit and what speaking in tongues is and what it is not.

The History of the Pentecostal Movement

When did the Pentecostal movement begin? Who were the major figures? What happened to speaking in tongues during the period between the early church and the outpouring in Topeka, Kansas in 1901? This class will explore the history and development of the Pentecostal movement, including the Azusa Street Revival, the rise of the Healing Evangelists, the Charismatic Renewal, and present day moves of God.
